Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Timi. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Who we are
Timi is operated by Samn. References to "we", "us", or "our" in these terms refer to Samn. References to "you" or "your" refer to the individual using the service. For questions about these terms, contact us at hello@samn.me.
2. The service
Timi provides privately hosted calendar and contact synchronisation using the CalDAV and CardDAV open standards. The service is available on a Free plan and a paid Pro plan, as described on our pricing page.
3. Accounts
To use Timi you must provide a valid email address. We authenticate you via single-use, time-limited sign-in links sent to that address — no password is required or stored.
You are responsible for:
- keeping access to your email account secure;
- all activity that occurs under your account;
- ensuring the information associated with your account is accurate.
Each email address may be associated with only one Timi account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Timi to:
- store or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes third-party rights;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's data;
- interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
- use the service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy without notice.
5. Subscription plans and payment
Timi offers two plans:
- Free — available to all registered users at no cost, with 100 MB of storage.
- Pro — a paid subscription providing 2 GB of storage, billed monthly.
Payments for the Pro plan are processed by Paddle, who acts as our merchant of record. By subscribing you also agree to Paddle's terms of service. Your card details are collected and held by Paddle — we never see or store them.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the customer portal linked in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. Your data is retained but writes will be restricted once you exceed the Free plan storage quota.
7. Refund policy
Because Paddle acts as merchant of record, all payment transactions and refund requests are handled directly by Paddle in accordance with their terms of service and applicable consumer protection law.
Our general refund policy is as follows:
- 14-day money-back guarantee — if you are not satisfied with the Pro plan, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial subscription payment by contacting us at hello@samn.me.
- Renewals — we do not offer refunds for renewal charges after the 14-day window has passed. You can cancel at any time to prevent future charges.
- EU consumer rights — if you are located in the European Union, you may have additional statutory rights, including a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. These rights are not limited by this policy.
To request a refund, email hello@samn.me with your registered email address and the reason for your request. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
8. Data and privacy
Your use of Timi is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. By using Timi you agree to the collection and use of your data as described there.
9. Intellectual property
The Timi software, branding, and website content are owned by Samn. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your personal or internal business purposes.
Your calendar and contact data remains yours. We claim no intellectual property rights over the content you store in Timi.
10. Service availability
We aim to keep Timi available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may carry out maintenance that causes temporary interruptions; where possible we will give advance notice.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. Deletion permanently and immediately erases all data associated with your account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation. Where possible we will warn you first.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Samn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Norway, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes we will notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
